Spend the day at Waikiki Beach

One of the best free things to do in Honolulu is to visit this famous surfing destination.

It may be surprising that it’s free to enter this historic site!Note that the website does charge a $1 reservation fee for tickets.

Explore the Pearl Harbor National Memorial

Take a photo with this bronze statue on Kuhio Beach, commemorating “the father of modern surfing.”

Visit the Duke Kahanamoku Statue

Two of the most popular free things to do in Oahu are the Manoa Falls Trail (moderate) and the Koko Crater Tramway to Koko Head Lookout (hard).

Hike Honolulu’s free trails

The best time to visit is between 11 a.m.-1 p.m, especially during the summer months. Please remember that it is illegal to touch or harass these animals.

One of the best things to do on the North Shore for free is to see the Haleiwa surfer signs on Kamehameha Hwy and Joseph P. Leong Hwy.
