CASA ESTABLO: LUXURY & COMFORT IN PUCÓN, CHILE

It’s easy to see why so many Santiaguinos enjoy spending their summer in the South of Chile. The greenery that engulfs this region leaves you feeling truly relaxed. Nonetheless, it can be hard to decide where to spend your time in this expansive area. I couldn’t have made a better choice than to stay at Casa Establo. This boutique hotel is family-run and only has ten bedrooms, making your experience feel as unique as possible. Furthermore, it’s located on the main highway that connects Villarrica to Pucón, allowing easy access to either city.

Casa Establo, meaning “Stable House” in English, maintains an equestrian theme throughout the hotel. I loved the personal touch in the hotel decor! Each bedroom is named after a different horse, and even your room key is attached to a charm that was carefully carved out of wood. The rooms at Casa Establo are comfortable, spacious, and offer a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and lake. The hotel’s location is perfect for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the Pucón city center and feeling like you’re more secluded in the forest.

Amenities during your stay include a breakfast buffet each morning, access to the pool and sauna, and wifi. The hotel breakfast was great, offering bread, jam, avocado, coffee, kuchen, and other typical Chilean breakfast foods. Afternoons in Pucón can be quite heated, so I often took advantage of the fantastic pool behind the hotel (as you can see). The pool is open to guests during the season; however, if you would like to use the sauna, be sure to reserve a time at the front desk. Out by the pool, there is also a type of natural hot tub that guests can use for an extra cost of 35.000 CLP.

As mentioned before, the hotel is family-run, making you feel “en casa”. The owners live in a house behind the hotel and have two adorable dogs that roam the hotel grounds and greet the guests. The family is willing to go out of their way to help their guests with whatever they may need. In fact, at one point, we had car trouble, and they came and picked us up!

During your time at Casa Establo, I recommend taking a stroll around the hotel grounds. Between the gorgeous panorama and foliage surrounding the hotel, you never know what beautiful sight you’re going to stumble upon.

Casa Establo was gracious enough to host me during my 2-night stay. Nonetheless, all opinions are my own.
